Cardiff City v. Crystal Palace
Cardiff City have lost their last two matches, including a disappointing loss at already-relegated Fulham last weekend. Four points from safety with just two matches remaining, Neil Warnock’s side would be relegated with a loss on Saturday. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are poised for another mid-table finish. Next season will be their 7th straight in the Premier League since being promoted in 2013. With wins in their final two matches, Palace would set a new club-record for points in a Premier League season.
Newcastle United v. Liverpool
Despite playing well, Liverpool lost 3-0 at Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League Semi-Final on Wednesday, snapping the Reds’ 19-match unbeaten run in all competitions. With the Premier League title out of their hands, there is a possibility Liverpool finish this excellent season without a single trophy. With Newcastle unbeaten in their last three matches, they continue pushing to finish as high up the table as possible. On Saturday, Rafa Benitez could put a major dent in his former club’s title hopes.
Huddersfield Town v. Manchester United
With just 2 wins in their last 10 matches in all competitions, Man United will welcome a matchup against last-place Huddersfield. It’s now crunch time for the Red Devils, as they are running out of time to earn a top-4 finish. At the bottom of the table, a 5-0 beatdown at the hands of Liverpool last time out was further salt in the relegation wound for the Terriers. Should Huddersfield finish the season without picking up another point, it would leave them with the 2nd-fewest points a team has ever won in a Premier League season.
Arsenal v. Brighton & Hove Albion
Arsenal have chosen a bad time to struggle, as they enter this match on the back of 3 straight Premier League losses. The Gunners still have a chance to finish in the top-4 this season, but with a positive result in the first leg of their Europa League Semi-Final against Valencia, that could prove their easier route to Champions League football next season. Despite their terrible run of form lately, Brighton could guarantee safety this weekend if they equal or better Cardiff’s result on Saturday. Brighton will be hoping for Cardiff to drop points though, as the Seagulls finish the season with matches against Arsenal and Manchester City.
Manchester City v. Leicester City
The title is in Manchester City’s hands, as they would be crowned Premier League champions with two wins in their final two matches of the season. However, Leicester City have won 6 of their 9 Premier League matches since announcing the appointment of Brendan Rodgers in February. Rodgers, a former Liverpool manager, will now have a say in the title race as the Foxes travel to Manchester City.
