WHU-CHE
It’s perhaps the biggest game in recent years for West Ham, who enter the weekend behind 4th-place Chelsea on goal difference. A win would move the Hammers above Thomas Tuchel’s men, who have scored just once in their last 3 matches in all competitions. Perhaps Chelsea can take advantage of a leaky West Ham defense that has conceded two goals in each of their last 4 matches.
WOL-BUR
Wolves enter this one coming off two straight wins, a pair of clean-sheet victories over Fulham and Sheffield United. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are seeking three straight league wins for the first time this season against Burnley, whose typically strong backline has conceded 8 goals during their current three-game losing run.
LEE-MU
Leeds are unbeaten in their last 5 matches in a run that includes draws against Chelsea and Liverpool, and a win at Manchester City. Another “big 6” club awaits them this weekend, one that beat them 6-2 in the reverse fixture. Manchester United have suffered just one loss in their last 26 Premier League matches and haven’t suffered defeat away from home in the league in 15 months.
AVL-WBA
Aston Villa have lost three of their last four matches, though those defeats have come against Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham…and without Jack Grealish, whose return from injury remains uncertain. It’s nearly must-win time for West Brom and Sam Allardyce, who said his club needs to win five of their final six games to have a chance at avoiding relegation.
LC-CP
Leicester City, winners of five of their last seven matches in all competitions, scored 3 goals in the first half on Thursday to beat West Brom convincingly. As for Crystal Palace, will they come out rusty or rested? This is their first game in over two weeks, since a 4-1 loss at home to Chelsea.
