Tottenham v. Sheffield United
One of the season’s biggest disappointments will meet perhaps the season’s biggest surprise on Saturday. Tottenham have gotten off to a terrible start in the Premier League, winning just 3 of their first 11 matches. Meanwhile, Sheffield United enter the weekend in the top-6, are unbeaten in their last 4 matches, and have yet to lose away from home this season. Can Chris Wilder’s men keep their remarkable run going in north London?
Leicester City v. Arsenal
It’s been a simply stunning start for Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City. In fact, they’re off to the club’s best-ever top-flight start. They’ve won 7 of their last 9 Premier League matches and enter the weekend comfortably in the top-4. Now the Foxes face under-pressure Unai Emery and a struggling Arsenal team that have drawn 4 straight matches in all competitions. Worth noting, Arsenal have lost on their last 2 trips to the King Power Stadium.
Manchester United v. Brighton
After showing signs of starting to turn things around under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United took another step backwards last weekend in their loss at Bournemouth. Now they return home to host Brighton, whom they’ve never lost against at Old Trafford. Still, the Seagulls have won 2 straight and 3 of their last 4. Can they continue their climb up the table on Sunday?
Wolves v. Aston Villa
Aston Villa will look to snap their 2-match Premier League losing streak on Sunday at Wolves, who haven’t lost in the league since mid-September. These two teams met a week-and-a-half ago in the EFL Cup, with Aston Villa winning 2-1 at Villa Park.
Liverpool v. Manchester City
The top-2 title contenders meet on Merseyside in perhaps the game of the season. Liverpool haven’t lost in the league since January. Of course, that loss came at Manchester City, a result that transformed last season’s title race. Pep Guardiola’s men will be well aware that the club haven’t won at Anfield since May of 2003. Who will come out on top – the Premier League leaders, or the 2-time defending champions?
