Chelsea v. Brighton
Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from last week’s loss to Liverpool when they host Brighton. Frank Lampard’s men have been inconsistent throughout the season, while Brighton haven’t won a Premier League game since opening weekend. Notably, Chelsea have won all 8 league meetings with Brighton. That includes 4 Premier League meetings, in which Chelsea have outscored Brighton 11-1.
Tottenham v. Southampton
Tottenham are on a terrible run, winning just once in their last 7 matches in all competitions. Now, Mauricio Pochettino will welcome in his former club – Southampton, who lost at home to Bournemouth in their last Premier League outing. Spurs have won 7 of their last 8 Premier League home meetings against the Saints, with the lone blemish coming in a 1-2 loss in May 2016.
Everton v. Manchester City
After scoring 8 goals against Watford last weekend, what do Manchester City have in-store on Saturday at Goodison Park? Unsurprisingly, the defending champions are this season’s top scorers with 24 goals. They’ll continue to chase down leaders Liverpool against the other Merseyside club, Everton, who’ve lost their last 2 Premier League games, and 3 of their last 4.
Leicester City v. Newcastle
Leicester have been one of the season’s early successes – they’ve lost just once through their first 6 Premier League games and enter the weekend inside the top-4. Meanwhile, Newcastle are stuck at the other end of the table – they enter the weekend in 17th, have won just once all season and have managed only 4 goals, the joint-fewest in the Premier League.
Manchester United v. Arsenal
Manchester United’s early-season problems were compounded last week at West Ham. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men now return home to face Arsenal, whose only loss this season came at leaders Liverpool. Interestingly, Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League home meetings with Arsenal. The last time the Gunners won at Old Trafford in the league was in September of 2006.
