Newcastle v. Manchester United
It hasn’t been the start to the season that Manchester United would have wanted – they’ve lost 2 of their 3 Premier League games and were embarrassed against Tottenham before the break. Meanwhile, Newcastle won last time out against Burnley, and are enjoying their best start to a Premier League season in 7 years. Given the form of both teams – and the fact that Newcastle won this fixture last season – no result is off the table.
Crystal Palace v. Brighton
Both Crystal Palace and rivals Brighton are coming off back-to-back Premier League losses. The south Londoners got the better of Brighton last season, picking up 4 points from the 6 available.
Tottenham v. West Ham
Tottenham have bounced back from their opening-weekend loss to Everton. Jose Mourinho’s men are unbeaten in their last 7 matches in all competitions and are coming off that 6-1 win at Old Trafford before the break. West Ham meanwhile have rebounded from a slow start as well – they’ve won their last 2 Premier League games after losing their first 2 of the season. Two teams in form, both of whom have shown they’ve got goals in them – we should be in for an exciting London derby.
Leicester v. Aston Villa
Aston Villa have got to be the surprise of the season – they’ve won all 3 Premier League matches, including that stunning 7-2 thrashing of Liverpool before the break. Can Leicester – who are coming off a 3-0 loss against West Ham – get in their way? Of note – Leicester have won 4 of their last 5 Premier League meetings with Villa.
Leeds v. Wolves
Leeds have gotten off to a very strong start in their return to the Premier League, taking 7 points from their opening 4 games. Wolves meanwhile picked up a much-needed 3 points before the break at home to Fulham. Two teams – and two managers – who like to play attractive football ... a goalless draw seems unlikely.
